Obituary of Arminda Minnie Ybarra
Arminda "Minnie" Ybarra, age 92, of Adrian, died Friday, November 23, 2012, at Promedica Bixby Hospital. She was born January 24, 1920, in LaRusiai, Texas to Antonio and Amelia (Montalvo) Cisneros. She moved to Ottawa Lake, MI from Texas in 1952, and finally to Adrian in 1975. She married Reyes Ybarra in 1962 in Blissfield, MI and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1995. She had been employed by the Whiteford schools for eight years. Minnie was a very active member of St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish in Adrian; she served on the Christian Service Commission, Rosary Altar Society, Captain of Team #5 of their Bingo Group, Daily Mass co-coordinator, as well as coordinating for funerals, weddings, and other special liturgies, and the Saturday evening liturgies for several years; she was also a Eucharistic Minister, receiving a special certification from Bishop Povish of the Diocese of Lansing; she ministered to the sick and shut-in of the parish as well as the Dominican Sisters at Maria Health Care Center. Her special talents extended beyond her Church involvement to growing plants and flowers, several of which she graciously donated to the annual Church Bazaar. She is survived by a son, Enrique Garza of Adrian; two daughters, Anita Espinoza of Saginaw and Arminda Soto of Adrian; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gustavo Cisneros of LaFeria, TX; two sisters, Ofelia Valdelza and Irma Flores, both of LaFeria, TX. In addition to her husband, Reyes, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. The Funeral Liturgy for Minnie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at St. Mary of Good Counsel with Father Shaun Lowery presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held today and Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian where a Rosary will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. A family prayer service with Fr. Shaun Lowery presiding will be held on Tuesday at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish at 10:15 a.m. followed by the liturgy at 10:30 a.m. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservice.com.
