William Thomas Berry Jr. (Bill) Passed away at the age of 95 on July 17, 2022 in Tecumseh, MI., at the
home of his daughter Susan. He was preceded in death by his wife Marianne and oldest daughter Anne.
He is survived by daughters Susan and Jane, sons Thomas and John and many grand children and great-
grandchildren.
Bill was born in the wind-swept town of Brush in North Eastern Colorado about a year after his parents
met at a Glenn Miller concert in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Bill met his wife Marianne while in the Army
after the end of WWII on a United Airlines flight on which Marianne was a stewardess. They were
married on November 29, 1946 and celebrated their 72nd anniversary before Marianne’s passing in 2019.
During his life he had a diverse range of careers that included auto sales, running a Bear Frame and Axle
shop, truck driver, lobbyist, Executive Director of the American Motorcycle Association, Investigator for
the Colorado Organized Crime Strike Force and finally as head of the State of Colorado Department of
Revenue before retiring to the greater Phoenix area in 1984.
Bill will be interred with his wife Marianne at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix at a
later date. Per his request there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made
