Obituary of Carol Alice Morris
Our Mother, Carol A. Morris, went home to Jesus early July 2, 2022, surrounded in the love and prayers of her children and grandchildren. (Visitation and Funeral information below) She was the beloved wife of 44 years of Charles W. Morris who preceded her in death 9/18/95, mother of 6: Deborah (Chris) Hampson, Pamela (Jewel) Threet, Cheryl (Keith) Schafer, Theresa (Randy) Faust, Elizabeth (Jack) Tinter, and Charles (Kathy)W. Morris Jr. She dearly loved her in-laws Chris Hampson, Jewel Threet, Keith Schafer, Randy Faust, Jack Tinter and Kathy Morris. Her 18 grandchildren were her pride and true joy, each was so very special to her-Maggie Cobbins, Jake Baldwin, Rachel Happ, Jay Threet, Krissy Merriman, Steven Threet, Andrew Schafer, Greg Schafer, Will Schafer, Trevor Faust, Scott Faust, Meghan Webster, Betsy Allen, Johnny Tinter, Grace Tinter, Ashley Morris, Lindsey Carson, Abigail Morris. She felt her most important job and accomplishment was to be a great wife, good mother and fun loving Gammy. She succeeded in this. She also was a devoted daughter to Charles and Alice Gallagher who preceded her in death. She became a licensed private pilot in 1971 and a registered nurse in 1980. She flew everywhere with her husband and used her skills wherever needed. She enjoyed the time spent with children as in Camp Quality (a camp for children with cancer) and high school catechism where she used her knowledge to better their lives. She was active in sports her whole life and truly enjoyed the camaraderie of being with active people. She always had a smile and good words to say especially for those in need. She had 24 great grandchildren Vivianne, Caitlyn, and Evelyn Cobbins, Fiona and James Baldwin, Elle Happ, Gemma and Jude Threet, Brady Merriman, Peyton and Declan Schafer, Riley Schafer, Caroline Morris Faust, Benjamin Faust, Evelyn Faust, Lily and Alice Faust, Campbell, Colson, Charlie, and Cru Webster, Brody, Wesley, and Jordy Allen. Loved taking her grandchildren on trips at 10 years of age-mostly to foreign countries.
Carol was an avid world traveler, visiting all seven continents including South America and Antarctica with Granddaughters, Ireland twelve times-taking various family members with her on multiple trips, multiple photo safaris in Africa. She was an experienced underwater photographer and speargun hunter. She loved photography: nature, motion sports competition including but not limited to snow and water skiing, bullfighting and triathlon, and architecture around the globe. She accompanied her husband and son on a 14-day Grizzly Bear Hunt in Alaska in 1983. She also loved to read both fiction and history books-one of her favorite historical subjects was Winston Churchill. Serious Jimmy Buffett and Toby Keith fan. Was always up for an adventure whether it was a deep-sea fishing trip, exploring new country or dancing with her grandchildren at the last family wedding.
