Julia Loar

Obituary of Julia Loar

Julia Ann Loar, age 68 of Tecumseh passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022, surrounded by loved ones and with the solace of knowing that she would be healed by her Heavenly Father and reunited with her son. Julia fought a courageous battle with cancer and showed great spiritual strength throughout her journey.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Corey Simpson) Heath, stepson, Dustin (Carmen) Loar; her fiancé, Kenny Hassing; her brother, Kenny Henley; her grandsons, Christopher (Kristin) Piotter, Devon Slusher and James Loar; her granddaughters, Abby Slusher, Zora Heath, Maria Loar, Josie Heath, Sophia Loar, Eliana Loar; her great grandson, Christopher Piotter and several nieces and nephews.  Julia is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, and son.

Julia was born April 24, 1954, in Johnson City, Tennessee to Willis and Beatrice (Sheldon) Henley. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1972. Julia started working at the age of 16 and was a hard worker at everything she did.  She worked numerous jobs throughout her career and retired at Wacker Chemicals in Tecumseh, after 30+ years.  She took great pride in representing her fellow colleagues as union president for many years and even after her diagnosis of cancer, served in an advisory role.  One thing she will be remembered for is always having a camera in her hand and capturing special moments in people’s lives.  She eventually took that passion and started Julia’s Photography, where she was able to touch the lives of many.

Julia was the matriarch of the family. She showed strength, compassion, forgiveness, and shared her faith with everyone.  She most enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time with her grandkids and late-night bonfires with her family. Julia is also known for her love of animals.  Throughout her life, she took in numerous rescue animals and treated them like family. Julia’s great two loves, Tiffany and Maggie, her Shih Tzu dogs, preceded her in death.

Per Julia’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
