Josef Wyandt

Obituary of Josef Mike Wyandt

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Josef “Mike” Wyandt passed away in Adrian, MI after a long 9-year battle with Esophageal Cancer. He was 66 years old.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children, Michelle (Kyle) Schwieterman of Columbus, OH; Nathan (Sarah) Wyandt of Sylvania, OH; Jon (Emily) Wines of Tecumseh, MI; David (Melissa) Wines of Monroe, MI; Michael (Amanda) Wines of Tipton, MI and siblings Steve (Jackie) Wyandt of Illinois; Sandra Chronis of Maumee, OH; Josie (Don) Heilmann of Whitehouse, OH; Daniel (Wendylea) of Waterville, OH; Deann (Joe) Schiavone of Maumee, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Wyandt and Janet (Gregory) Wyandt; and his first wife, Catherine S. (Patton) Wyandt.

Mike was born on September 12th, 1955, in Fostoria, OH. He graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1973 and went on to serve our country in the US Army from 1984 to 1997.

Mike married his first love, Catherine (Cathy) in 1976. They met in High School and built a life together with two kids until her untimely death in 2001. He met his second love, Kathleen (Kathy) in Tecumseh and in 2003, blended their families together. In these last 20 or so years, they both loved to go to farmer’s markets together, camp and support their 12 grand kids in whatever they were interested in doing. Mike loved all things sports, playing, attending, and umpiring/referring (in his early adult days). He most loved cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers, and Cleveland Browns. On nice days in the spring and summers you would most likely see him mowing a lawn or two in town for a fellow neighbor in need (or for a little extra change in his pocket). Mike took great pride in his work whether in his lawn care side business or in his day job. Most recently he was the face of a new Annual Award at work called the “Mike Wyandt Dedication to Tri-State” award.
