Obituary of Maureen Frances (McAtamney) June

Adrian – Maureen Frances (McAtamney) June, departed our family peacefully in her sleep at home, on April 11, 2022, at the age of 72. Maureen was born on November 22, 1949, in Detroit, the second child of nine by Frank and Alice McAtamney. She grew up in St. Clair Shores and graduated from Southlake High School with the class of 1968. After high school, Maureen attended Sybil Beauty School and became a hairdresser – a job she genuinely loved.

Maureen was a loving mother that took care of her whole family, always putting their needs and the needs of others before her own. To know her, was to love her. There was always room at the table for anyone. From her smile to her laugh, she just brightened your day, and her hugs would heal your soul. She was the best listener, and anyone could talk to her about anything. When John and Maureen moved from Saline to Adrian, she decided to stay home and take care of her family. After her children had grown, Maureen extended her love and compassion by nannying for other families in the Adrian area. Her cooking was the best and she made it look so easy. She enjoyed reading, nature, and could often be seen out shopping and striking up conversations big or small with her friends.

Maureen is survived by her husband, John June; sons, Rich (Shelly), Chris (Katie), and Jeremy; grandchildren, Morgan, Rachel, Alexandra, and Madalyn; siblings, Denny McAtamney, Tim (Judy) McAtamney, Pat (Dan) Snider, Jim (Diana) McAtamney, Colleen Kelley, Michael (Mary) McAtamney, and Frank (Kimberly) McAtamney. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sheila Graham.

Per Maureen’s request, cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Deacon Leonard Brown officiating.
