Obituary of Thomas E. Powelke II
Adrian – Thomas Edward Powelke II, of Adrian, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit at the age of 55. Tom was born on February 21, 1967, in Morenci, the son of Thomas Edward Powelke and Deanna Faye (Ries) Marine. On August 2, 2008, in Adrian, Tom married Autumn Delight Church and she survives. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He was a professional Painter, talented craftsman, enjoyed culinary arts, and liked to watch the Waltons and Westerns. In honor of his mother’s kidney donation to a friend, Tom proudly registered as an organ donor himself. Above all, family was most important to Tom, especially his grandchildren who he loved to spoil wildly.
Surviving Tom is his wife, Autumn; parents, Thomas (Linda) Powelke of Adrian and Deanna Marine of Sun City, AZ; children, Heather Parker of Kentucky, Thomas Edward III (Samantha) Powelke of Adrian, Hobbs (Amy) Valley of Berkeley, MI, Danielle (Morgan) Tomczak of Saginaw, MI, Devon (Shantika) Powelke of Adrian, Seth Walker (Dominique) Simpkins of Highland, MI, Seth Andrew Powelke of St. Petersburg, FL, and Zain (Curtis) Wright of Adrian; grandchildren, Callie, Sora, Jentzen, Dallas, and Lily; sisters, Lisa Marie Tufo of Florida, Deana Sue Powelke of Columbus, OH, and Mary Jo (Keith) McDaniels of Phoenix, AZ; stepsister, Tiffany (Scott) Rourke of Jasper. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Leona Ries and paternal grandparents, Herman and Virginia Powelke; stepfather, Lyle Marine; in-laws, Melvyn and Rebecca Church
Visitation for Tom will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 11:00 am at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating. Visitation will also be held an hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
