
Obituary of Arlene F. Mueller
Arlene F. Mueller, age 84, formerly of Ann Arbor, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Oasis at Adrian Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
She was born April 4, 1937 in Deerfield to Henry and Amelia Caroline (Schantz) Mueller. Arlene held a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree from Siena Heights University. Arlene was an elementary teacher in Michigan, Ohio and New York. After teaching for nineteen years, she took Clinical Pastoral Education to become a certified chaplain. Arlene worked as a chaplain at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo and St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor for 25 years, until retirement in 2000. She was an Adrian Dominican Sister for 35 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Rita Woods of Britton, and Carol Bischoff of Ottawa Lake, MI; sister-in-law, Alice Mueller; forty-two nephews, nieces, and their families; many great-great-nephews and nieces; as well as loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Frances in infancy, LaVerge Clement, Valerie Cross, Janet Mueller, Bonnie Sassak and Rose Long; and five brothers, Francis, Leslie, Walter, Oliver and Robert Mueller.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus (Light of Christ) Church in Deerfield with Father Jeffrey Poll as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, 9205 East U.S. Hwy 223, Blissfield, MI 49228 with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at Light of Christ Parish, (St. Alphonsus Church).
