
Obituary of Gregory Thomas Adams
Adrian – Gregory “Greg” Thomas Adams, age 48, of Adrian, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Greg’s final act of kindness was to be an organ donor. He was born on October 17, 1973, in Adrian, the son of Thomas C. and Barbara A. (Grnya) Adams. Greg, once a consumer of the Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority, became a board member and served several terms as a Board Chair before becoming a Peer Support Specialist. He was a huge advocate for mental health and founded the “E-Race the Stigma 5k” – the biggest fundraising race in Southeastern Michigan. Greg was awarded with the Hal Madden Outstanding Public Service Award for his tireless efforts for those in his community suffering from mental illness. He was also involved with the Adrian Rotary Club. Greg was a craft beer enthusiast who enjoyed traveling to breweries throughout the state with his fiancé Stefani. He was an avid Michigan State Spartans fan and a reluctant Detroit Lions fan. Greg loved running and was an avid marathoner and triathlete. He completed the Iron Man Competition and several half Iron Man Competitions where he excelled in swimming. Greg was known for always being proud of his family, especially his fiancé, Stefani and step-daughter, Meredith.
Greg is survived by his parents; fiancé, Stefani; stepdaughter, Meredith; sister, Carole Adams; aunts and uncles, Marge (Glen) Rutila, Ruth Langston, and Bill Adams; and many cousins and extended family. Greg was also a proud pet dad to four cats, Goose, Floyd, Trubbs, and Itty Bit and bearded dragon, Nene.
A memorial gathering for Greg will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 12-2 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with a gathering an hour prior at the Holy Family Parish-St. Mary’s Campus. Inurnment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
