Obituary of Helen Moreno

Blissfield – Helen Chapa Moreno, age 95, of Blissfield passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at her daughter’s home. She was born on March 3, 1926, in Oregon, OH, the daughter of Joseph M. and Atelana (Bitela) Chapa.  She enjoyed crocheting, refinishing furniture, antiques, and singing. 

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Iris Moreno of Toledo, OH and Christine (Angelo Gutierrez) Moreno of Hudson; six grandchildren, Ali (Sara) Moreno, Rick (Teri) Moreno, Elario Moreno, Richard Estrada, Inesa (Terry) Gillin, Natalie (Jeff) Loop; 12 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Starlight Cayuga; great grandchild, Jasmine Hanf; brother, Esquiel Chapa; and a sister, Consuelo Chapa.

Visitation for Helen will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 9-11:00 a.m. at the Light of Christ Parish (St. Peter the Apostle, 309 S. Lane Street, Blissfield, MI 49228 ) with Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield.
