Obituary of Carma E Sutton

Welcome Home Carma Evelyn Sutton.

Carma, formerly of Morenci, passed away Wednesday February 2, 2022 peacefully in her home in Liberty Center where she lived for the last 2 years with her great niece, Amy Whalen-Buehrer (Mark) and family. She was born July 3, 1914 in Wauseon OH to Alfred and Violet Rice, she was 107 years old. She married the love of her life, Donald Sutton on September 1, 1938.

Carma was a homemaker, farmer and loved her apple orchard, where she and Don met so many wonderful people and friends. She loved God & her church family at the Morenci Baptist Church where she attended for years.  She also enjoyed working at the school cafeteria, traveling, camping, and volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul in Fayette.

Carma is survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Sutton and Miles Etter; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Everline; a grandson, Bryan Etter; sisters, Elinora Woods, Margaret Franklin, Leona Underwood, and Velma Prong; and brothers, Randall, Verlin, Grover, and Leonard Rice.

Funeral services for Carma will be held at Morenci Bible Fellowship Church (Former Morenci Baptist Church) on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Jim Yatzek officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors, also at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers,  please send memorial contributions to the Morenci Bible Fellowship Church.  The Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Morenci has been entrusted with arrangements.
