Obituary of Lillie Mae Hooton
Lillie Mae Hooton, age 91, of Adrian passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Lenawee. She was born on March 4, 1930, in Prestonsburg, KY, the daughter of Taylor and Eva (Bradley) Prater. On October 28, 1950, she married Harold G. Hooton and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2004, after 54 years of marriage. Harold and Mae were members of the Antique Car Club. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing beautiful Iris and zinnia flowers, family vacations in Florida and summers in their pool. Mae’s family dinners for everyone to enjoy, never to leave hungry are some of the fondest memories. She will be remembered by all as Harold and Mae.
She is survived by her children, Sandi (Kevin) Hooton Albright of Adrian and Ric Hooton of Merritt Island, FL; four grandchildren, Brian (Christie) Pfisterer, Sheena (John) Bakewell, Brandi (Kurt) Colone, and Hope (Brock) Mater; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanie Refner of Adrian. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Prater and daughter-in-law, Taleen Hooton.
Funeral services for Lillie will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Greg Burdine officiating. Burial will be held in Brookside Cemetery.
