
Obituary of Juan Solis
ADRIAN- John F. Solis, Sr., age 78, of Adrian died on January 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 16, 1943, in Blissfield to Senon and Antonia (Rodriguez) Solis. He married Irene Garcia on May 19, 1979, and she survives. John retired in 2011 from State Farm as an auto estimator inspector. He was a Godly man who lived his faith and led by example. He enjoyed dancing and golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He instilled in them and all he met a profound sense of peace and understanding. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Parish - St. Mary’s Campus and volunteered for many activities at the church, including the RCIA program, was a religious teacher, the Prison Ministry, Engaged Couple Mentoring, Cursillo, the Saturday Morning Prayer Group, Guadalupano, and most recently, would lead vigil scripture services with those who had lost a loved one. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a board member of the Adrian Rea Literacy Center. John’s love for God was seen by all who knew him. His actions demonstrated God’s love and his faith touched so many lives.
In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by three sons, John Solis, Jr., Jesse Solis and his wife, Sarah, Benjamin Solis; a daughter, Anna Solis-Gautz and her husband, Chris; a brother, Paul Solis; a sister, Linda Solis of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Lauren (Emily), Hannah Pinkard (Zak), Alexander, Tanner Heath, Samuel, Bella, Chloë, Benjamin Jr., Jasmine Raine, Brandon, Sarah Irene, Olivia and their Brazilian exchange student son Domingos “Neto”; great grandchildren, Cael, Canaan, and Cade; his extended family Aunt Mary Guerrero, brothers Joe and Emilio Guerrero; sister, Lupe Abercrombie; as well as his best friends and compadres, Robert and Margaret Jaimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Rachel Solis, and a grandson, Angel Solis.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at Holy Family Catholic Parish – St.Mary’s Campus on Monday, February 7, 2022, beginning at 10:30 AM with Fr. Michael Newman, OSFS presiding, where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation will be held from 2-7 PM on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home (3050 W. Beecher Road, Adrian, MI 49221), where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7 PM.
John will be missed by so many. His family and friends are called to live by his favorite saying from St. Francis - “Preach the Gospel at all times.
