Walter Sieler

Obituary of Walter Ralph Sieler

Deerfield – Walter “Pete” Sieler, age 88 of Deerfield, passed away peacefully at his home, December 28, 2021.  He was born on August 23, 1933, in Blissfield to Irvin and Edna Sieler.  Pete graduated from Blissfield High School and went into cabinetmaking. Later he started his own business, Deerfield Home Builders – which he ran for almost 60 years.

He met his wife, Donna Hoffman at a barn dance and built a life that included three daughters, many friends, and extended stays in Florida.

Pete could often be found working in his woodshop, playing cards, gardening, hunting for seashells on the beach or finding treasures at the flea markets and auctions. But he never missed his Detroit Tigers on tv or the radio. He was also a cherished member of Family of Peace Lutheran Church, Ottawa Lake, MI.

He leaves behind two daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Powers and Rebecca Havens (Brad Warncke); six grandchildren, Darcy, Haley, Dakota, Tessa, Shyanne, and Jace; five great grandchildren, Gemma, Tatum, Greyson, Cole, and Piper; brothers, Melvin (Connie), Wilbert (Judy), and Leroy (Fran) Sieler; sister, Carol (Delmer) Cilley; many nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, Toby.

Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna; daughter, Cynthia; his parents; brothers, Norman and Orville; sister, Melva; sister-in-law, Delight; brother-in-law, Merlin; and lifelong friend, Robert Dickerson.

Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. His final resting place will be with Donna and Cynthia at Deerfield Cemetery.
