Obituary of James Leroy Hockman
James LeRoy “Roy” Hockman, age 91of Adrian, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. He was born on December 21, 1929, in Henry County, OH, the son of Byron and Clara (Croninger) Hockman. He married Jane Louise Parker on November 19, 1950, in Swanton, OH and she survives. Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Roy retired from M&S Manufacturing in 1970 where he was a Tool Grinder and then becoming a foreman. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and attended the Hudson Wesleyan Church. Roy loved to tinker and could repair and fix just about everything.
In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by two sons, Robert (Carol) Hockman of Colorado Springs, CO and Roger (Rose) Hockman of Morenci; brother, Larry (Darlene) Hockman of Napoleon, OH; three sisters-in-law, Lois Pass, Elnora Hockman, and Sharon Parker; brother-in-law, Everett Pass; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; one step-grandchild; two step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great grandchildren with one on the way and a special aunt and uncle, Norma Watson and Ralph Croninger. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, William and Lona Parker; brother, Byron Hockman Jr; brothers-in-law, Perry Parker and Marvin Geiser; sister-in-law, Alice Geiser; and a granddaughter in infancy, Amanda Hockman.
A funeral service will be held for Roy on Monday, October 18, 2021 beginning at 1pm at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home (3050 W. Beecher Road, Adrian, MI 49221), where family will greet friends beginning at 11AM. Internment will follow at Swanton Cemetery in Swanton, OH. The family kindly requests that masks be worn.
