Obituary of Richard William Stockman Sr.

Morenci – Richard William Stockman Sr., age 57 of Morenci and formerly of New York, passed away on October 7, 2021 at the Toledo Hospital from complications from COVID-19.  Richard was born on November 26, 1963 in Coldwater, MI to Richard L. Stockman and Edith S. (Southworth) Martin.  He graduated from Jonesville High School and later attended Jackson Community College.  Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was currently employed at the Menard’s distribution facility in Holiday City, Ohio as a forklift driver in the flatbed department.  Richard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, being an adventurous person and his quick-witted sense of humor.  In his free time, Richard enjoyed camping, fishing and being a handyman.  He loved grilling and barbecuing chicken and taking road trips.  Most of all, family was most important to Richard.  He was an excellent father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.  

Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his parents, mother to 7 of his children, Drema Eastman; children, Sara Stockman, Heidi Stockman, Amanda (Jake) Sours, Richard W. (Kristen) Stockman Jr, Kristen (Samantha) Grafen, Shelly Andrews, Victoria (Deion Austin) Stockman, Michael Stockman, Jacob Stockman, Tyler Stockman and Nolan Stockman; brother, David (Marie) Stevens; sister, Jennifer Carr; along with 15 grandchildren and canine companions, Spikes, Hunter, Max, Peanut and Bella.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edith and Lloyd Southworth; grandson, Richard Lee Stockman; brothers, Jamie Martin and Poncho Martin; sister, Sissy Martin and the mother of his 5 younger children, Nola Bentley. 

A Celebration of Life for Richard will be announced at a later date.
