Obituary of Jack Leon Meinke

MANITOU BEACH-Jack Leon Meinke, 75, passed away in his home on August 6, 2021.  He was born October 7, 1945, in Adrian, MI to Orville and Virginia Meinke.

He was a longtime resident of Manitou Beach and loved fishing year around.  He enjoyed making wonderful woodworking craft projects and baking holiday cookies.

Jack was in the Army for three years, straight after graduating from Morenci High School in 1963.  He missed serving in the Vietnam War by three weeks.  He worked at the UARCO Paper Plant in Adrian for 26 years before switching to driving semi for Carpenter Trucking, until retiring in 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Grace, his two daughters; Ann (husband Tim) Shilling and Janet (husband Matt) Gwinn, his mother, Virginia Meinke, his sisters, Donna Bischoff and Kathy Meinke, sister-in-law, Marie Meinke, brother-in-law, Phillip Rinck, his grandchildren; Beth Johnson, Chris Johnson (and his wife Kate and soon to be great-grandson, J.J.), Olivia Murphy and Amy Murphy.

He was preceded in death by his father (Orville), brother (Wayne), sister (Linda Rinck) and brother-in-law (Larry Bischoff).
