Obituary of Ronald D. Coopshaw
Ronald D. “Coop” Coopshaw, age 75, of Blissfield, died on Monday, April 26, 2021 at his home in the presence of his loving family. He was born June 9, 1945, in Adrian to Louis and Magdalena (Termote) Coopshaw. He graduated from Blissfield High School in 1963 and later went on to The Ohio Barber College. On April 17, 1982, he married Karen Sue (Burch) at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Blissfield. He was a member of Light of Christ St. Peter’s Parish in Blissfield where he was a member of the choir and a member and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was on the Village of Blissfield Planning Commission. He enjoyed casino day trips, playing euchre and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and dear friends. Ron was a local barber in town and retired in May of 2012. His favorite saying was…”You gotta look good, you never know who you’re gonna see.”
In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his children and grandchildren, Jeffery (Angela) Coopshaw and their children, Kaileigh, Kylen and Kamryn; Andrea (Jordan) Hall and their children, Reese, Sawyer and Tanner; Stephen (Corinne) Coopshaw and their children, Casen, Lane and Slate; two brothers, Robert Coopshaw and Richard (Myra) Coopshaw; a sister, Alice (Laszlo) Deri; a sister-in-law Janice Coopshaw; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Christine Marie Coopshaw, brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Marilyn Coopshaw; Anne Coopshaw, Charles and Jeanette Coopshaw, Jerry Coopshaw; and two granddaughters, Aubree Eliza and Jaelyn Magdalena Hall.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Light of Christ Parish, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Blissfield with Fr. Jeff Poll as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 2-8 p.m., with a Rosary Service being held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at Light of Christ St. Peter’s Parish from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
