Hudson – Elsworth Lavern Edinger, age 89, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Monday, April 19, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. Elsworth was born May 25, 1931 in Ransom Township Michigan to Melvin and Elnora (Dunlap) Edinger. On February 14, 1973 Elsworth married Hildegard Raschmann, and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2018. Elsworth worked for many years for Tecumseh Products retiring in 1996. Elsworth enjoyed many activities and hobbies. His love of cars and motorcycles led to a lifetime of riding, driving, and refurbishment. His all-time favorite pastime was playing cards, enjoying the Senior Center, Family, and gambling. He was the best dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, son, and friend ever! He will be truly missed. The family would like to thank the hospice staff from Elara Caring of Adrian, MI who made him so comfortable at the end.
Elsworth is survived by his children; Phillip (Karen) Edinger of Conroe, TX, Thomas (Kathy) Edinger of Hudson, MI, Timothy Edinger of Atlanta, GA, and Heidi Gendron of Pioneer, OH; sisters; Carol Jardine of Henderson, TX, and Helen (Thomas) Gassaway Pioneer, OH; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Elsworth is preceded in death by his wife Hilda; his parents Melvin and Elnora Edinger; 2 brothers; Delbert and Robert Edinger; 2 sisters; Bernita Benker and Lois Culver.
At Elsworth request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will take place Friday, April 23, 2021 from 3 – 5 pm at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Hudson. A private burial will take place at Ransom Township Cemetery. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
