Obituary of Vedetta Crater
Vedetta Irene Crater, age 90, of Hudson, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at ProMedica Provincial House. She was born on April 8, 1930, in Bryan, OH the daughter of Clifford and Mazie Clark. She was a born-again Christian, attending Hudson Wesleyan Church. Starting at 17, Vedetta was a Sunday School Teacher for 60 years. Vedetta started her working career in 1974 at the age of 43 at Thorn Hospital in Hudson when her husband Charles passed away. She had been employed with the hospital for 34 years. She had a hobby-craft club for many years and decorated wedding and birthday cakes.
Vedetta is survived by her son, Michael Crater; daughter, Melva Seyfarth; special person whom she considered her daughter for over 40 years, Sharon (David) Wright; grandchildren, Andrea (John) Shaffer, Brent, and Brian; great grandchildren, Keegan, Callin, and Keeley Shaffer. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewayne, Myron, Maurice, and Douglas Clark; and a sister, Eileen Mills.
Visitation for Vedetta will be Friday, April 2, 2021, from 2-7 p.m. at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Hudson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hudson Wesleyan Church with Rev. Wesley Rowan officiating. Burial will be in Prattville Cemetery at a later date.
