Obituary of Thomas L. Hamilton

Thomas L. Hamilton - Born in Ludington, Michigan, January 15, 1938 to Leroy and Marie (Beebe) Hamilton.  He graduated from Ludington High School and received a degree from Ferris State in Big Rapids.  Tom married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Englund June 21, 1958 and they had 62 years together.  He always said he was so fortunate to be married to the love of his life.

 With Tom’s passing, goes a true gentlemen, kind to everyone, always willing to help. Loving to his family; children and grandchildren.  He will be truly missed by family and friends especially close friends, Robert Foster, Ken Callison, Al (Sue) Jennings and Robert Sharpe.

 Tom joined Consumers Energy Company after graduation and retired as a supervisor after 43 years.

He is survived by his wife Nan, son Todd (Heidi) Hamilton, daughter Jennifer Hamilton, son-in-law Charles (Dawn) Weitenhagen, grandchildren Branden Curtis, Emilee (Jacob) Curtis, Corey (Lindsie) Wietenhagen, Colby Wietenhagen, great grandchildren Ariel and Savannah Nodine, brother-in-law Nelson Englund and cousins Richard (Sue) Beebe, Jim (Deb) Englund and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Jeffery Hamilton, son Blair Richard Hamilton, former daughter-in-law Lisa Hamilton Weitenhagen.

Tom’s interests most of his life centered around classic cars and motorcycles so much that he started a coffee group of like-minded guys who shared the same interest in building classic cars.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Christy, Beth, Nicole, Karen, Pastor Tom and Social Worker Amanda from ProMedica Hospice for all their loving care they gave to Thomas during his illness. 

At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place and a memorial to celebrate his life is planned for a later date.
