Obituary of Rose Elaine Fick
Rose Elaine Fick of Deerfield, MI passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 26, 2021, under the care of Careline Hospice and Blissfield Place Assisted Living. She was born to the late Alex Barta and Rose (Kubic) Barta in Dickenson, North Dakota on April 18, 1927, where she was surrounded by 13 siblings. Rose moved to Michigan at the age of 13 after her parents passed to live with older brother Otto Barta and his wife Emma. Rose met and married Orville Fick in 1945, and they settled in Deerfield, welcoming daughter Penny in 1947. Rose resided on The Ponderosa, where she enjoyed caring for her home, doing yardwork, and gardening. Rose was passionate about her Czechoslovakian heritage, spending time at Czech Polka Dances and making many friends over the years. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and was a staple at Lady Royal sporting events, cheering on her granddaughters and the children and grandchildren of her friends.
Rose was preceded in death by husband Orville Fick, daughter Penny Albain, and many friends she counted as family over the years. Rose is survived by granddaughters Shannon (Steve) Andrix of Blissfield, MI, and Nicole (Jason) Fritz of Lambertville, MI, and great grandchildren Jenna and Cara Andrix, and Savannah and Jason Fritz Jr. Rose is also survived by her best friend Pat Lennard and her Wednesday night crew.
Visitation will be March 5, 2021 at Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield, MI, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing regulations, only a limited number of individuals will be allowed in the chapel at a time and face coverings are required. A private service will be available on live stream https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1123881 starting at 7:00pm.
