TECUMSEH: Michael Aloysius Misiak, age 79, of Tecumseh passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. He was born September 24, 1941 in Dearborn, MI to Aloysius and Margaret (Trybus) Misiak. On August 12, 1982 he married Cathie M VanDyke, and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2020. He attended Wayne State University and graduated with a degree in chemistry. Michael was employed by PPG Industries as a chemist. Michael also put his degree to good use inventing and securing patents on unique adhesives. He was raised Catholic and attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Dearborn. Michael was a collector, focusing on stamps, baseball cards, coins, and jewelry. His favorite times were spent sharing his love with his family. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and was a novice tech enthusiast.
He is survived by a son, Mike (Karen) Misiak of Middleburg, FL; four daughters, Lynn Sutton of Charlevoix, MI; Patti (Josh) Lawrence of Tecumseh, MI, Christy (Tim) Shepard of Angier, NC; and Jackie (Steve) Allison of Oxford, MI; nine grandchildren; a brother, David (Michelle) Misiak of TX; and a sister, Patricia Medich of IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Fred Medich, and his wife, Cathie.
A cremation has taken place and the family will be holding a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial contribution to Hospice of Lenawee at https://www.hospiceoflenawee.org.
