Obituary of Linwood Irene Winzeler
Jasper – Linwood Irene Winzeler, age 96, of Jasper, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at her home. She was born on September 27, 1924, in Ogden to William and Velmer (Baker) Wotring. She graduated from Adrian High School with the class of 1941. On October 11, 1945, in Clayton, she married George Winzeler and they raised a wonderful family and created lasting memories before his passing on September 29, 2013. Linwood held many secretarial jobs over the years, but working as secretary to several Superintendents at Blissfield Community Schools was her favorite. Linwood was a member of Ogden Community Bible Church and attended both Elem3nt and One Mosaic Churches. Linwood and George were also active members of Gorman and Rome Granges.
Linwood is survived by her children, Gene (Elaine) Winzeler of Jasper, Lynn (Sue) Winzeler of Marysville, MI, and Candace (Don) Fritz of Blissfield; grandchildren, Melanie (Steve) Brindamour, Brad (Megan) Fritz, Danika (Bennett) Loe, Patrick (Lindsey) Winzeler, Stefanie Winzeler, and Marc Winzeler; nine great grandchildren; and close family friends, Ketil Solvik-Olsen and Chet Hudson. In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stanley and Lawrence Wotring; and in November 2019, her most heartbreaking loss was when her sweet granddaughter, Marcia Lyn, was called to heaven much too soon after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic funeral services for Linwood will be held privately for the family. Burial will be held in Ogden Township Cemetery.
