Obituary of Patricia L Carrico

Patricia “Patty” L. Abbott-Carrico, age 68, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Patty was the daughter of Claudette Willet and Leroy Abbott, born on March 24, 1952, in Breckenridge County Kentucky.  In 1970, Patty graduated from Adrian High School and went on to study at Siena Heights to obtain her EMT license.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, and helping others.  She especially loved to shoot pool and belonged to the APA Pool League.  Patty loved football, especially her team, “The Saints” writing and hunting.  In 1986 she was featured on Michigan Outdoors for taking a three bearded turkey by a woman.  She volunteered as the Activities Director at the Wallace B. Murphy Nursing Home in Grafton, West Virginia and was a volunteer at the Lenawee Christian Centre. She also loved attending the Croswell Opera House but her greatest love was being a mom, grandmother and sister.


Patty is survived by her children, Rita (Jr.) Shrout, Stephen (Ashley) Sancho, Chris (Connor) Beckman-Sancho, and Patrick (Jessica) Ayling; four sisters, Lynda Abbot, Teresa (Larry) Lamoreaux, Laura Abbott and Annabelle “Peaches” Voorhees; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George Abbott and Jody Wilson; and a beloved son, Rodney Anthony Ayling..


Following the latest rules and regulations due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Patty's family has decided the Celebration of Life Service being planned will be held at a later date.  You may send condolences to the family at Memorial contributions may be made to Patty’s Crowd Funding on the Anderson-Marry Website to help offset funeral expenses.  Envelopes are available at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
