HUDSON: Donna Mae Jones, age 91, of Hudson passed away on July 22, 2020, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. She was born March 10, 1929 to Charles A. and Carol M. (Harrison) Peterson. On January 28, 1950, she married Amos C. Jones in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2013, one day after celebrating 63 years of marriage together.
Donna was a 1947 graduate of Hudson High School and was employed for many years as a cashier and meat cutter at Pittsford Foods. She loved spending her winters in the Florida sunshine and enjoyed passing time playing card and board games. Her hobbies included cooking, canning. and was also fond of music, especially Big Band and Bluegrass.
Donna is survived by three sons, Randy L. (Alicia) Jones of Jackson, Richard D. Jones of Oregon City, OR, and Bruce A. (Lynn) Jones of Hudson; four daughters, Deborah Severson of Coldwater, MI, Diana (Joseph) Arens of Grand Haven, MI, Jeanette (Jason) Armsfield of Australia, and Rebecca L. Nance of Jackson; and one brother, Floyd Peterson of Alvordton, OH. In addition to her husband Amos, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Lynn Jones; a daughter-in-law, Edith Jones; a son-in-law, Phillip Nance; four brothers; and two sisters.
A graveside service for Donna will be on Monday July 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson with Chaplain Bart Hall officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the family has requested that a mask be worn and social distancing guidelines are followed at the graveside service. Local arrangements were entrusted to Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Hudson.
