Obituary of Mabel Louise Sparkman

Mabel Louise Sparkman, age 92, of Adrian, passed away on May 2, 2019, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.  She was born on March 4, 1927, in Chillicothe, Missouri to Harley and Anna (McDaneld) Howard. On August 18, 1945, in Dearborn, she married John W. Sparkman and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2010.  Mabel was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Adrian.  She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, garden club and playing cards and bingo.  Mabel was often found tending to her flower gardens, feeding the birds, cheering on her beloved Detroit Tigers and taking care of her cat, Stu.

 

Mabel is survived by one son, John Jr. (Terri) Sparkman; two daughters, Sherry Ann Sparkman and Brenda Sparkman; three grandchildren, Angela, John, and Craig; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Melvin and a sister, Dorhla.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Dr. David Fulks officiating. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland at a later date. Visitation for Mabel will be also be held on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
