Obituary of Robert "Bob" Perry
Robert David Perry, age 92 of Adrian, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
He was born on September 19, 1926, in Deerfield, to Allie and Rosa (Burgard) Perry. At the age of 16, Robert graduated from Deerfield High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII and the Korean War. On August 27, 1949, in Deerfield, Robert married Mildred Herman and she survives. He worked for Tecumseh Products for 43 years as the Tool and Die General Foreman. Robert was a member of St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his wife, Mildred, Robert is survived by two sons, Randy Perry of Adrian and Rodney (Cindy) Perry of St. James City, FL; one daughter, Kathy Merillat of Pinckney; one brother, Elwyn (Janet) Perry of Riga; one half-brother, John Opal of Tecumseh; one sister, Helena Rymanowicz of Milan; brother-in-law, Jerome (Gloria) Herman of Adrian; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Kathryn), Christopher (Breanna), Michael, Ryan, Chad (Kelsey), Perry (Wendy), Chelsea, and Sean; and three great grandchildren, Landon, Liam, and Maysea. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Russell, Stanley, Norman, Gerald, and Charles; and one sister Betty Ann.
The funeral liturgy will be offered on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Adrian with Fr. Jack Loughran as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #97 and V.F.W. Post #1584 Annis-Fint. Visitation hours will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian with a Vigil Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation one hour at St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m.
