Obituary of Tom Earl Christenson

Tom Earl Christenson, age 72, of Morenci, died December 30, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home surrounded by family.

He was born on January 22, 1946, in Adrian to Leslie and Luella (Raker) Christenson, On May 28, 1966, he married Nancy Ford in Seneca, Michigan and she survives.  Tom served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed wood cutting, mowing the lawn, taking down barns, and following the Morenci High School Band.  He also was a regular blood donor for the Red Cross, having donated 163 pints. Tom was a member of the Morenci American Legion Post 358 and the First Universalist Church in Lyons.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Chris (Melissa) Christenson of Napoleon, Michigan, Amanda (Lester) Bentley of Hudson, and Gwenda (Kirby) Eichler of Morenci; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Heather, Salem, Kaitlynn and Drake; a great-grandson, Eli; a brother, Ted Christenson of Louisville, Kentucky; and a sister, Judith (Kenneth) Derflinger of Fayette, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Bennett.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the First Universalist Church in Lyons, Ohio.
