Obituary of Madeline A. Duwve

Angola, IN – Madeline Agnes Duwve, age 86, of Angola, IN, passed away on December 28, 2018, at the Lutheran Life Village in Kendallville, IN.


She was born on April 4, 1932, in Hudson,  Michigan to Raymond and Margaret (Marvin) Fitzpatrick. She married Fred Duwve on November 10, 1950, in Hudson, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Madeline was a member of the Incarnation Catholic Church and Strathmore Riverside Community for more than 25 years. An avid reader, Madeline also enjoyed life at the lake, including boating, pontoon rides and waterskiing. Madeline and Fred lived in Sarasota, FL and enjoyed traveling. She was fortunate to take some wonderful trips to Ireland, Europe, California and Hawaii, and many visits with friends and family. Madeline was a devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend.


In addition to her husband, Fred, Madeline is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Harry Atkinson) Duwve of Fishers, IN and Linda (Connie Ries) Duwve of Maumee, OH; brother, William Fitzpatrick of Hamilton, IN; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Thomas Fitzpatrick; and two sisters, Mary Alverson and Catherine Mann.


All services will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 207 S. Market St., Hudson, Michigan 49247 A Funeral Liturgy for Madeline will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hudson, Michigan with Fr. Todd Koenigsknecht as Celebrant. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hudson, Michigan.
