Francis C. Cuer, age 88, of Hudson, died on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Lynwood Manor in Adrian. He was born May 31, 1930, in Hudson to Melvin Leland and Vera Irene (Pickford) Cuer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1956. On December 6, 1958, he married Flora Mason in Hudson. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1961. He then married Janice Leuette Herman in 1968 in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on March 30, 1996. Francis had been employed by Stubnitz Ball Bearing, retiring in 1995, and then by Siena Heights College.
He is survived by a two daughters, Connie Herman of Hudson and Sue (Scott) Bower of Wauseon, Ohio; a son, Douglas (Paula) Herman of Fayette, OH; a brother, Marlon Cuer of Hudson; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his first wife, Flora Cuer and his second wife, Janice Cuer, he was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Vera Cuer; two sons, Kim Herman and Edward Herman; a daughter, Vera Sutherland; three brothers, Dorman Cuer, Leon Cuer, and DeRene Cuer; two sisters, Nina Easler and Naomi Little and son-in-law, Mace Sutherland.
At Francis’s request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hudson with Pastor William VanValkenburg officiating.
