Obituary of Mildred Whiton

HUDSON – Mildred E. Whiton, age 91, of Hudson went to meet her Lord and Saviour on July 19, 2018, at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian.

 

She was born March 21, 1927, in Paw Paw, MI, to Cassius and Nancy (Powell) Johns. On June 9, 1946, she married Harley Whiton, Jr in Adrian, and he preceded her in death in 2010.  Mildred was a member of Wheatland Congregational Church. She loved spending time with family, crafts, painting, cross stitch, reading, and walking.

 

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra (Jim) Taylor of Brooklyn, Jill (Bob) Clement of Pittsford, Kathy (John) Clark of Pittsford, and Becky (Steve) Sarles of Addison; brother, Forrest (Lucille) Johns of Tawas; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and close friend, Margie Wollett.  In addition to her husband, Harley, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ivan, Andrew, and Cassius Jr and four sisters, Ina, Olive, Stella, and twin sister.

 

Visitation for Mildred will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Clyde Wonders and Fred Slagle officiating.  Burial will be in West Madison Cemetery.
