Obituary of Gale Salazar
Gale Salazar, age 75 of Adrian, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Hospice Home of Lenawee. She was born May 20, 1943 in Detroit, MI to George and Celene (LaCaras) Yokich. On December 12, 1964 Gale married Lee Salazar in Adrian, who survives her.
Gale was employed for 25 years as an elementary and middle school teacher with the Adrian Public Schools. She retired in 2000. After retirement she enjoyed her membership in the Adrian Garden Club, Tau Delta sorority and her book club, as well as, volunteering for many non-profit organizations. She further enjoyed golfing, traveling with her husband, friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren. Gale will be remembered for her smile, that would light up a room, and by living her life through her own motto: Life’s a trip - make memories!
Surviving Gale, in addition to her husband, Lee, are her children, Tressa (Samuel) Mucci of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Jessica (David) Cook of Holland, MI, and Jason (Stephanie) Salazar of Brighton, MI, her sister, Andrea (David Grebner) Yokich of Mason, MI, and her grandchildren, Emma, Patrick and Paul Mucci, Cat, Alex and Adam Cook, and Isabel, Elena and Anna Salazar. Preceding her in death were her mother and father.
The memorial mass will be offered on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian with Fr. Tommy Kattikanayil M.S.F.S. as celebrant. Visitation hours will be on Friday, July 6, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home.
