ADRIAN – Rose Harpst, age 92, of Adrian, passed away on May 1, 2018, at Tecumseh Place surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 8, 1925, in Detroit, to Charles A. and Augusta (Warenburgh) Lievens. She was married to Donald Harpst on May 4, 1946, in Blissfield and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1993. She was a member of St. Mary of Good Counsel Church.
Rose is survived by two sons, Mark (Cheryl) and Matthew (Pam) Harpst; two daughters, Janyce Rodgers and Julie Roehl; son-in-law, Rodger Goodrow; two sisters, Dorothy Burgermeister and Pauline Zimmerman; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kirk Lewis Harpst; daughter, Joni Marie Goodrow; brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Rose Ann Lievens; sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Edsel Cousino; brothers-in-law, John Burgermeister and Robert Zimmerman; son-in-law, Robert Roehl; and great grandson, London Kohl Goodrow.
At Rose’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church, Adrian, with Fr. Tom Murphy presiding.
