Obituary of Cleofas Perez Jr.
Sevierville, TN – Cleofas Perez Jr., age 81, of Sevierville, TN formerly of Adrian, passed away on April 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
He was born on June 4, 1936, in Cotulla, TX to Cleofas Sr. and Enriqueta (Trevino) Perez. On December 28, 1963, in Corpus Christi, TX, Cliff married Rosamaria Martinez and she survives. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 – 1967, retiring as a Captain. Cliff received his bachelor’s degree from Adrian College and his master’s degree from International School in Phoenix, AZ. He worked for Tecumseh Products International Division as the General Manager of International Sales, retiring in June of 1999. Cliff was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pigeon Forge, TN. He was a Pastoral Care Minister, Lector, and Hispanic Ministry Advocate. Sir Knight Cleofas Perez was a member of 4th Degree, Assembly #2920 in Louden, TN, Knights of Columbus #8418, Pigeon Forge, TN, American Legion TN Post #0202, VA member, and DAV Chapter Smoky Mountain #94 Life member. Cliff enjoyed gardening, bird watching, grilling, and loved nature. All who have been blessed to know him, have never met a more kind and gentle man.
In addition to his wife, Rosamaria, Cliff is survived by four sons, Cleofas III (Carol) of Vero Beach, FL, Michael (Robin) of Adrian, Gregorio of Tecumseh, and Alberto (Heather) Perez of Adrian; seven grandchildren, Antonio, Jake, Rick, Riley, Holly, Vincente, and Juliana Perez; sister, Maria Gloria Hackett of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raul Perez.
Visitation for Cliff will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian where a Vigil Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Full Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Post #97 and V.F.W. Post #1584 Annis-Fint.. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
