Obituary of Rosario "Rose" Torres
ADRIAN – Rosario “Rose” D. Torres, age 79, of Adrian, died April 13, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
She was born November 14, 1938, in Midland, Texas, to Jose Maria and Emma (Postas) Salazar. On November 12, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian, she married Carlos D. Torres, Sr. and he survives. Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a choir member, served on the Eucharist Ministry, served on the Church renovation committee and was a member of the Evangelist Cursillo Movement. She had worked at Fisher Body until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed wood crafts, sewing, and music. But her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Carlos, she is survived by five sons, Robert (Sunny) Torres of FL, Jose Maria (Lori) Torres of CA, Timothy Lee (Kerri) Torres of FL, Vincent Edward (Jackie) Torres of Adrian, Rodney Lee (Sharon) Torres of New York; one daughter, Lori Wilson of Adrian; one daughter-in-law, Anita Torres of Adrian; three brothers, Jose Maria Salazar, Sebastian Salazar and Lee Salazar; one sister, Jane Perez,; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carlos Jr.; two sisters, Mary Flores and Manuela Regaldo; two brothers in infancy and three brothers, Guadalupe Salazar in WWII, Jessie Salazar and Rudy Salazar.
Visitation for Rose will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian where a Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 until the time of the service at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church with Father Tom Murphy presiding. Cremation will take place after the service and burial of cremains will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
