Kathy and Frank; I know your mother's passing was not unexpected, but also know that it is difficult nonetheless. I feel so lucky to have known your mom (and your father, and brother John of course).
She was an elementary school catechism teacher of mine, and she left a deep impression on me. I still remember how sharp she was when it came to remembering the words of all the parts of the mass without glancing at the missal, and how she could recite the psalm back perfectly after hearing it just once. I am serious when I tell you that it challenged me to "up my game" mentally, because obviously these are the kind of things that smart people can do! That was about 50 years ago and it has stayed with me all this time!
Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope that warm memories can comfort you.
Dear Frank, Kathy, Donna, Pam and Grandchildren,
We were so very saddened by the passing of "Patty." She is such important part of our childhood DNA. She was the most treasured friend of "Fayzie" since their days at Michigan. I feel blessed that their friendship allowed us to share in their memories and their lives as we grew up.
Your mom had one of the greatest senses of humor ever! I can clearly hear her voice as she told one of her famous jokes. And nobody was a better cook. I still make recipes from my recipe box, written in my mother's hand, entitled, "Patty's ______________.
What a day of celebration that she is now reunited with your dad, and with John!
Much love to you all. You will held closely in our hearts and prayers in the following days as you mourn your loss.
John and Kim Shea
Kathy and Frank you have my thoughts and prayers at this time.
I knew your mom and dad they were wonderful.
They are together now and the memories will keep
them always in your hearts.
Frank and family, our condolences on the loss of your Mom. We know your pain, hold on to all good memories. The Bierman family
Frank, Kathy and Riley family,
We were saddened to hear of Pat's passing. What a kind and thoughtful lady with a quick wit! We always enjoyed being in Pat's company and loved her Irish Blessings that came with anything you received from her in the mail.
Our deepest sympathy,
Pat was the most loving, giving person on this earth. Donna and I enjoyed our visits with her at Lenas the past few years. God rest in peace, Pat. You were one of his most loving children. Virgil & Donna
To Pat’s Family,
It was my honor to be one of the lay Ministers from St. Joan of Arc Parish that held services at Wolf Creek. Getting to know Pat was easy. She was the highlight of many of my visits. In no time we were fast friends, sharing life, jokes and our Irish heritage. I will miss her quick smile, wisdom and love for all. I will forever be grateful for her friendship.
Until we meet again may God hold her gently in the palm of His hand.
With deepest sympathy,
Marilyn Ryan Errington
Kathy (favorite child) and Frank,
With Pat gone the world seems like a martini without the olive. She was just special and we were all just better because she was in our lives. Who will we ever find to add the spice to this town that Pat did so effortlessly? She was one of a kind. And Kathy, loved the obituary...just guessing that you wrote it. My love and thoughts and prayers are with the entire Riley family.
We will never forget your Mom getting a kick out of me carrying Cathie "over the threshold" into your rental home next door to your house.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.
Kathy, my prayers are with you at this time. Please remember your mom is in a better place, at peace and free of all earthly troubles and pain. I did not know her but I’m betting she was as lovable a character as her “favorite child” is. Thinking of you and your family at this time of loss. Love , Jimmy Hay.
Dear Frank and Kathy,
I was very saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. As Kathy said, Pat is with Frank and John and Jesus in heaven. Keeping you in my prayers as you celebrate her wonderful life.
Kathy I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a very wonderful person. Prayers for you and your family.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
