Doug and I hung out together on Maumee St. when he lived with Mrs. Larkins. He was a neat fellow, easy going and had a great grin. When either one of us could afford a model car we would get one and build it our way, Doug always had a use for any spare parts and made some really cool wooden bodied hot rods.
He had about a 1950 Studebaker coupe, 1952 Olds Rocket 88 with the V-8, but coolest ever was a 1954 Ford 2 door hardtop with Dual exhaust, full bubble fender skirts, lowered body, frenched headlight and taillights, door handles removed, and painted dark blue. In Adrian in the late 50's this was special for sure. I have great memories from our time together when we both where a lot younger.
My thoughts and prayers are with you
