Obituary of Marjorie Germain

ADRIAN – Marjorie Ann (Michaels) Germain, age 79, passed away on January 18, 2018, at her home.

She was born on December 8, 1938, in Bay City to Harry and Eileen (Neff) Michaels.  On September 29, 1962, in Bay City, Marjorie married Donald Germain. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Bay City and attended Aquinas College, later receiving a license as a Cosmetologist and then receiving a Dental Technician degree from Stautzenberger College.  Marjorie enjoyed sharing her favorite memories from growing up in Bay City, especially the time she spent at the family cottage on Saginaw Bay.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian and volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, bowling, golfing, visiting the beaches of Michigan, solving crossword puzzles and word games, was an avid reader and a life long learner, but most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Donald, Marjorie is survived by her son, James (Shelly) Germain of Adrian; two daughters, Ann (Kenneth) Adams of Tipton and Sharon (John) Upp of Clayton; two sisters, Louise Freel and Helen (Mike) Woods all of Essexville; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Margaret Germain; sister, Mary Eileen Michaels; and in-laws, John and Magdelen Germain.
