Obituary of Jewel Hudson

Jewel M. (Cole) Hudson ADRIAN – Jewel M. (Cole) Hudson, age 87, of Adrian passed away, Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born March 8, 1924, in Hackleburg, AL, to Jerry and Mary Maggie (Bickerstaff) Cole. On March 8, 1946, she married Marvin Justus Hudson, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1990. She attended Raisin Valley Friends Church in Adrian. Jewel is survived by three sons, David (Debbie) Hudson of Blissfield, Carl (Theresa) Hudson of Clayton and Charles Hudson of Adrian; three daughters, Hazel Pickens, Mary (Bill) Fox and Fayetta Steffen all of Adrian; three sisters, Fay Isom, Ople Lolley and Johnie Parker; grandchildren, Malena (Daniel) Robertson, Anje (Henry) Nieto, David (Stacey) Wright, Christopher (Ashley) Brandon, Aaron, Kelsey, Haley and Kendall Hudson, Chad (Darla), Eric Fox (Cathy), David Steffen, Cody Hudson (Jen), Trevor Hudson and David Dickerson, great-grandchildren, Coleten, Brody, Jada Robertson, Kloe, Hunter Knisel, Devon, Faith Wright, Skyler, Alexis Fox and one on the way; and a son-in-law, Terry Wright. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jut, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Hudson; daughter, Kathleen Wright; great-grandson, Justin Robertson; brother, James Cole; sister, Delphie Cole and son-in-law, David Steffen. Funeral services for Jewel will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Jim Brandingham officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Raisin Valley Friends Church or Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
