Obituary of Margaret Finley

Margaret V. Finley ADRIAN – Margaret V. Finley, age 95, of Adrian, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Stu, and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born March 3, 1916, in Listowel, Ontario, Canada to Charles W. and Lillian (Aiken) Albert. On July 26, 1938, she married John L. Finley in Indianapolis, Indiana and he preceded her in death in May 1991. Along with her husband, John, she was the owner and operator of the Gourmet Meat Company in Tecumseh. She was an artist specializing in oil paintings and china painting. She attended the John Herron Art Institute. She was a loving mother. Margaret is survived by two sons, Jerry (Gloria) Locey of Indiana, and John C. Finley of Chicago; two daughters, Patricia A. (Erik) Blom of Ann Arbor and Barbara (Stuart) York of Jasper; two brothers, Joseph (Shayne) Albert and James Albert all of Delton, Michigan; three sisters, Dorothy (Clifford) Byers of Bellview, MI, Carol (Chris) Brown of Delton, MI and June (Richard) Miller of Delton, MI; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; Dorothy Albert who raised her from childhood; two brothers, Charles Albert and William Albert; a sister, Jean Wilcox; and two grandchildren. At Margaret’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation. Burial of cremains will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
