Obituary of Herman Raper

Herman I.V. Raper ADRIAN – Herman I.V. Raper, age 85, of Adrian passed away, Monday, January 16, 2012, at Lynwood Manor. He was born April 12, 1926, in Hackleburg, Alabama to Letus and Odell (Oliver) Raper . On September 12, 1950, he married Mary Harper in Fulton, MS and she preceded him in death. Herman served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed by Stubnitz & Green Co. for 20 plus years as a foreman, he then was the owner-operator of a warehouse. Herman is survived by a son, Bobby (Diane) Raper of Anniston, AL; two daughters, Vickie (Joe) Strong of Adrian and Rhonda (Joseph) Hubbard of Adrian; one brother, Hugh “Buck” Raper of FL; one sister, Verna (Howard) Brown of Adrian; and many grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Earl, Oneal and Otto; a sister, Opal; two sons, Randall and Gary Moorehead, a daughter, Susan Anne Raper; two grandsons, Jeffrey Strong and Jeremy Moorehead; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Strong. Funeral services for Herman will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral home, Adrian with Mr. David Raper officiating. Interment will be in West Madison Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
