Obituary of James McKinney
James A. McKinney ADDISON – James A. McKinney, age 83, of Addison, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. He was born June 17, 1928 in Magnolia, AR to William A. and Edith A. (Hite) McKinney. He was married to Blanche Potts on July 25, 1959 in Adrian and she survives. James retired from Tecumseh Products on October 1, 1990. He was a member and served as usher at St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn. In addition to his wife, Blanche, he is survived by a son, Edward McKinney of Adrian; five daughters, Marilyn Sue (Bill) Owen of Louisiana, Nellie Jean of Arizona, Julie M. (Todd) LaMonde of Adrian, Brenda McKinney of Jackson and Joann (Stephan) Samsel of Brooklyn; two sisters, Edith Atha Holland of Alabama and Mozel Williams of Morenci; four grandchildren, Angie, Christy, Jeremy and Jaime “Raymond”; two step-grandchildren, Stephan, Jr. and Kristen; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn with Father Thomas Wasilewski as Celebrant. Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, where a Vigil Prayer Service will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn. A Family Prayer Service will be held at 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Shrine. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
