Morenci – Kathi E. Tice-Taylor, age 62 of Morenci, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania. She was born on July 15, at Bixby Hospital in Adrian Michigan 1960 to Kelton and Barbara Tice. On November 1, 1986, she married Paul Taylor in Clayton, and he survives. Kathi worked at Lenawee Stamping for approximately 12 years before going to work for Consumers Energy as a meter reader for approximately 14 years. After retiring from Consumers she briefly worked for the Lenawee Department of Aging to help provide care for elderly adults. Kathi loved helping her clients and many of them she became good friends with. Even after a hard day's work, Kathi would return home and still find time to care for her family and friends.
Kathi’s main passion in life was photography. Everywhere she went she packed her camera alongside her, never wanting to miss a shot. This love for photography grew and she established and operated her own photography business, My Wish Studio. Named after her own personal dream to become a photographer.
From senior photos, family shoots, pet photography, and wildlife; Kathi enjoyed taking all kinds of pictures. However, nature and wildlife photography held a special place in her heart. Kathi would drive around in her truck to scope out areas in search of animals and she’d wait patiently for the perfect shot. Listening to the sound of the birds and nature while out in the field brought her a deep sense of peace and belonging. After each session she’d come home and show everyone all of the beautiful photos she captured. It was a joy seeing her eyes light up when she shared her work with all of us.
Painting was another passion of hers and every opportunity she had she would spend time in her studio creating beautiful watercolor pieces. Illustrating scenes in nature, animals, and even members of her family. Each unique piece she created carries a special part of herself forever within the artwork that she so lovingly shared with everyone.
Kathi also had a deep love for people and being a breast cancer survivor herself she offered free photography sessions to cancer patients and their families. In addition, she participated frequently in the Relay For Life to celebrate cancer survivors and patients. Encouraging them to fight back and find a cure.
Kathi was such a genuine and kind person. She will forever be loved and dearly missed by all family and friends.
Left to cherish Kathi’s memory are her husband of 35 years, Paul; her mother and step-father, Barbara and John Scott; her children, Blaine and Ashley Taylor; a brother, Kenny Tice; and an aunt, Carol Rowley. Preceding her in death was her father, Kelton Tice; a brother, Mike Tice; and a sister-in-law, Kim Tice.
