Charles A Howland

MANITOU BEACH - Charles A. Howland, age 85, of Manitou Beach, died July 8, 2022 at Lynwood Manor.  He was born July 10, 1936, in Hudson to Hugh H. and Alice L. (Ambler) Howland.  On June 8, 1958, he married Eunice McClurg and she survives.  Charles had been an administrator and a teacher for the Blissfield Community Schools for 40 years, Western School District, and taught at the Sothern Michigan Prison in Jackson.  He had also been a chemist at Uckelee Animal Health and drove charter buses in Florida and the Midwest.  He enjoyed reading, genealogy studies and loved to be with people.  He was a member of the Grace Point Evangelical Free Church. 


In addition to his wife, Eunice, he is survived by three sons, Scott C. (Linda) Howland of Adrian, Daniel L. (Patti) Howland of Waterford, and Craig A. (Lisa) Howland of Adrian; two daughters, Lorene S. (Matt) Jones of Blissfield and Lynette (Brian) Rugg of Island Lake, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hugh H. (Donna) Howland of Brooklyn.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Jason Howland; a sister, Betty Jean Ehnis; and two brothers, Frederick Howland and Delbert Howland.


Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Grace Point Evangelical Free Church (4612 N Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221) beginning at 11a.m. with Pastor Jeff Barbieri officiating, to be followed by cremation.  Burial of cremains will be in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, Michigan.  Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2022  from 4-8p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
