West Unity, OH – Lucille Grubbs, age 75 of West Unity, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, early Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her home.
Lucy was born on October 12, 1946 in Jasper, to the late William and Flossie (West) Risner. On February 17, 1973, she married Raymond D. Grubbs, Sr. in Adrian, and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2022. She worked at Ferro Corporation in Stryker for approximately 20 years.
In order, Lucy’s top three favorite things were family, bingo, and casinos. She loved her family dearly, but would never hold back if something wasn’t right. Her love for bingo was highly evident – playing eight or more cards at a time. Casinos soon fell into the mix as well.
When she wasn’t playing bingo, she watched a lot of television. She never missed her soap operas – The Bold and The Beautiful and The Young and The Restless. She also loved to watch the Hallmark Channel - Walker, Texas Ranger, Heartland, and the Golden Girls being her favorites there. Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right were also top on her list.
Lucy absolutely loved Olive Garden Chicken Alfredo and going shopping. Her family says she had a lead foot while driving and she loved country music, especially George Strait – the only man she would have left her husband for!
Surviving are her children, Raymond Grubbs, Jr., Rodney Risner, Todd (Melissa) Risner, Brandi Grubbs, and Jennifer Skeels; grandchildren, Vanessa, Dakota, Little Rodney, Christian, Tessa, Treven, Brycen, Tashery, Dylan, Phillip, and Robert; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Divert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Dale, Red, Herman, and Charles Risner; and sisters, Shelby Estes and Evelyn Shay.
Funeral services for Lucy will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, with Pastor George Roig, officiating.
