DEERFIELD-Alma Laura Cox, age 93, of Deerfield, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at her home under the loving care of her family. She was born September 21, 1928, in Berkey, Ohio to Arthur and Clara (Fink) Woodward. She had been an elementary school teacher for 27 years. Alma loved to crochet and had made blankets for all her family and friends. She was active in 4-H at the Lenawee County Fair Grounds, served as Superintendent for all the 4-H projects for many years and was involved in the Deerfield Lucky Clovers as a leader. Alma also enjoyed clowning and was known as Klutzy the Clown.
Alma is survived by four daughters, Clara (Michael) Robinson of Delta, OH, Bonnie (Daniel) Pitney of Deerfield, Sherry Robinson of Adrian and Donna (Brian) Ward of Adrian; five grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Abby, Laura, and Elizabeth; 13 great-grandchildren; loved feline companion, Rascal. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Pitney; a great-granddaughter, Natalie Wright; son-in-law Douglas Robinson; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, from 5-7:00p.m. and on Wednesday, January 5, from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Rodger Papenhagen officiating, to be followed by cremation. Burial will be held later in Deerfield Twp. Cemetery.
