Todd William Gentner

Onsted – Todd William Gentner, age 56, of Onsted, passed away on his 30th wedding anniversary, October 5, 2021 at ProMedica Flower Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1965, in Tecumseh, the son of Norman and Betty (Helm) Gentner. He was a 1983 graduate from Onsted High School and then went on to attend the University of Michigan and later received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Adrian College. On October 5, 1991, at St. Joseph Shrine in Brooklyn, he married Debra Diane Chatfield and she survives. Todd was the owner of multiple businesses and had been employed for the last 26 years as an Insurance Agent at Kapnick Insurance. Todd was a member of St. Joseph Shrine in Brooklyn where he served as a Youth Group Leader. He served on the School Board for Onsted Schools for 21 years with 11 of those years serving as the President. Todd held officer positions for Goodwill and for the Onsted Kiwanis. He loved Irish Setter Dogs, Diet Coke, the color red, spending time in nature, camping, and was always known for putting his family first.

 

In addition to his wife, Debra, and his dad, Norman, Todd is survived by his two children, Zachary (Maggie) Gentner and MacKenzie (Raymond) Gutt; two grandchildren, Johnathan Gutt and Kieran Gentner; brother, Scott Gentner; sister, Stephanie Waters; and his canine companion, Jake. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty and his mother-in-law, Diane Chatfield.

 

Visitation for Todd will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at St. Joseph Shrine, Brooklyn with Fr. Bob Pienta as celebrant. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Shrine Cemetery.
