ADRIAN – Leola May Hunt, age 95 of Adrian, died Monday, September 27, 2021, at Gaslight Village Assisted Living and Memory Care. She was born October 12, 1925, in Washington Twp., Ohio to Elwin and Elsie (Ahlemann) Marks. She married Wesley Hunt on June 25, 1960, and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2014. Leola had been employed for 20 years by LISD as a teacher’s aide. She was a Charter member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church and WELCA, the Lenawee County Retired School Personnel, the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, and was a former member of the Farmer’s Antique Tractor and Engine Association. She and her husband, Wesley, spent their winters in Tavares, FL.
She is survived by a son, Kevin (Shelley) Hunt of Adrian; two daughters, Susan (Albert) Bailey of Onsted, and Karen (Daniel) Shoner of Saline; two brothers, Herbert Marks of Mooresville, NC and Stanley (Judy) Marks of Fresno, CA; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Wesley, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Marks; and two grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Shoner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palmyra with Pastor Joshua Rinas officiating. Due to COVID-19 protocol, masks will be required at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Clinton. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 3-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
