Marguerite Rose “Ducky” (Caputo) St. Clair, age 89, passed away on 28 June 2021 after a long bout of COPD and heart failure. She was born on 20 June 1932 in Toledo, OH. Her parents were Nicole Caputo and Pearl Ulmer. Marguerite was a graduate of Waite High School. She worked at Williams Grill, was an elevator operator at the Commodore Perry Hotel, and worked at Libbey Owens Ford Glass. Marguerite married John St. Clair Sr. on 6 August 1953 in Stuttgard, Germany. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1961, where she served in the Primary of the Toledo Ward. Over the years, she attended the Jonesville, MI Branch, and most recently in the Wikieup, AZ Branch.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her father Nicole “Cully” Caputo, mother Pearl Elizabeth Ulmer, stepmother Elizabeth Caputo, sister Gloria Payne, her husband of 51 years John St. Clair Sr., her son Guy Thomas St. Clair, two infant daughters, and her grandson Charles David St. Clair II. She is survived by her aunt Marguerite (Caputo) Emmick of Toledo, OH. Her children: John St. Clair Jr. (Amelia) of Wikieup, AZ, Irene Bays of Pittsford, MI, and Douglas St. Clair (Teri) of Temperance, MI. Her grandchildren: Marie Boelter, John St. Clair III, Larry Gootee Jr., Michael Gootee, Douglas St. Clair Jr., Ashley Prevo, and Pence Anna St. Clair. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 425 Parkwood Dr. Jonesville, MI 49250 on Saturday, 3 July 2021. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm. A light luncheon will be held before the burial services at the Evergreen Cemetery on Burt Rd. in Ransom Township (Pittsford), MI.
